You can find us at local festivals, libraries all around town, local stores and venues, ministries of all sorts as well as doing fundraisers for schools, churches, adoption groups and so much more. Festival-lovers and arts enthusiasts can look forward to two days of strolling through outdoor galleries filled with paintings, mixed media, photography, pottery and jewelry, as well as textiles, glass, wood, metal and paper art at the upcoming Alpharetta Arts Streetfest. , The festival, now in its seventh year, will take place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 16 to 17 on Milton Avenue in the Alpharetta Historic District. For the second year, Alpharetta-based Out of the Box Art Studio will offer a FREE creative outlet for young artists of all ages with the Art in Action Area. According to Out of the Box owner and instructor Juli McGill, the studio will work with kids to help them make projects such as hand-print animal paintings and colorful glazed clay tile sculptures. “The clay tile sculptures are our big hit. We did almost 500 of them last year,” she said. “Everyone had so much fun, and we’re glad to have this opportunity again.” The studio will also present potters wheel demonstrations. A children’s area will feature going-green crafts and activities with the city of Alpharetta environmental coordinator showing kids how to make a variety of environmental crafts. More opportunities for creative exploration include balloon art, ceramic art, face painting and fun hair designs. The 87 artists to be featured in the festival were selected by a jury comprised of local art professionals. Arts Streetfest will include live jazz, Americana, folk and classic rock. In addition, the main stage will feature cultural dancing, including salsa and Irish dancing. “I am proud to say that the show has become one of the most anticipated yearly events in Alpharetta,” Mayor Arthur Letchas said in a statement. “Our community welcomes the artists and we look forward to celebrating their unique talents and creative work.” Alpharetta Arts Streetfest will take place on Milton Avenue between Highway 9 and Roswell-Canton Street in the Historic Downtown area. Parking is available at City Hall, Milton Center and city of Alpharetta downtown parking lots. Admission and parking are free to the public. OOTB has donated numerous art pieces and services to local public and private schools for their auctions and benefits. OOTB is well known in the home school community as a leader in providing “ more than a a.m. art class” for home school families. We serve and donate to many home school causes throughout several counties. We love to share art with the community and teach the students here to bless others with the gifts they have been given in art!
